The first time I started learning the English language was when I was three. My mom was very excited about teaching me the alphabet, but that was all. Since then, my love for new languages grew in me. I always used to be one of the best in my class and was passionate about learning new words everyday. I could practice with my friends, classmates, and my mom's co-workers, who also happened to know how to speak English.
In a full Spanish speaking country, English was very hard for me to put my very limited vocabulary knowledge into practice. When I was a teenager, I decided to graduate as a Bilingual Secretary in high school. I was fifteen when I saw the challenge of learning more about the English language and got serious about English. So I thought to myself, "I need to take it to the next level". So far, this goal is still on my mind, I want to learn more all time.
In my last year of high school, to my advantage, I did my first professional internship with an American company. It was very interesting for me, because I got to practice English with native speakers and my skills have been developing through since then. I would say that my ability to commit to what interests me, and my hunger of knowledge, pushes me forward to overcome what I know my weaknesses are, and do my best at learning English.
In today's society, the importance of English is very high since is the most common language spoken around the world and connects us all together. Also, I have seen how important English is when dealing with politics, medicine and the development of technology. English fascinates me, and for these reasons, we have to know the language wherever we are. College life has been a new, great experience. Learning how to manage my time between, work, study, class attendance, and of course, party time…has been valuable.
My main life driven goal is to become successful, and when I say this, It is not only in a materialistic way, but also moral. I want to find something that makes me fulfilled as well as taking my artistic abilities to a professional level. Now, "That" is my dream. I wish to work for Marvel, DC comics or Shounen Jump and make my own graphic novel, and that is why I love English, because, it will help me to tell stories, and hopefully change lives through them. Since my major is not art related at all, you would be wondering why I chose forensics. Well, I also have a passion towards science and yes, as another one of my goals I want to help the police catch the "bad guys" and to leave a legacy while making my life worth living on this planet.
