I believe writers are similar to the
artists. Artists put their thoughts and ideas in to their drawings to the
audience can decipher artist's intention. Similarly, writers lead the readers
into his/her mind where the reader can relate, agree or disagree with the
writer's thoughts and analyze them.
My art teacher
used to say, “If you can draw things from life -and most importantly- design as
well as plan a project out of your imagination, you are an artist.” I believe
same applies to being a writer. When you give someone a pen and a piece of
paper, as artists, writers put their imagination into words. If they leave the
reader with ideas that challenges their conception, then the individual is a
captivating writer.
I do not believe
that I am a good writer, however, I do believe that I am a decent artist. Currently,
I do not enjoy writing as much as I enjoy reading or drawing, but I do wish to get to love it one day. Nevertheless, if you love something you will do your best to be good at it. Therefore, throughout this course, I
would like to become a captivating writer where I can leave the readers
with thoughts that help them confront their ideas. To become such writer, I
believe I have to work on my fundamental skills such as: grammar, punctuation,
structure, organization, and revision.
Hi Deniz. I didn't see a tutor session report for you. Did you come to the writing center for a session?
ReplyDeleteWhile I appreciate your analogy (analogies can be excellent tools in writing), you didn't address my questions. What are your writing strengths? Weaknesses? What four writing goals would you like to accomplish?
Come and see me and lets work together.
