Many of us have the ability of writing others may not, many are working on it. We are built with strengths as well as a weakness. No matter what circumstance you can always change your weakness into strength by practicing your weakness.
Organizing writing, editing, and rough draft would be some strength for me. These qualities are valuable when it comes to writing in many ways; organizing your writing is valuable because you don’t want your paper to be sloppy or "all over the place". Proof reading and editing comes in handy as well in many factors. You wouldn’t want mistakes in your paper that’s going to be graded but would want your paper to be presentable when it’s read. Writing before hand, or in other words having a rough draft to me is very important, you jot down all your ideas. By making bullets or just free writing gives you an idea of what you’re going to write about. That’s valuable because incorporating all my strengths; organizing my writing, and editing are all about having a rough draft paper. With this I gain the confidence in my skills. I know my ability and to what extent I can do.
Like most people I do need an extra push in writing, with strength comes a weakness. Second guessing my writing would be a huge weakness for me as well as using vocabulary that would make a paper sound better. I would type a paper thinking and knowing I put in one-hundred percent but eventually second guess myself. I’m not much of a "book worm". Books never interested me growing up. I’m the type to be playing outside or involved in sports. I would be seen with a book only if it was assigned from school, or summer reading and I think that’s why I lack in vocabulary.
Being a mass Communications major, writing is one of its main factors. My goal is to better myself in writing. It’s not an easy process but I’m willing to put in work. I’m always willing to improve my ability and that’s important. Even though I struggle I know I’m willing to get help whether asking my professor or going to the WAC center. I wish to develop better writing abilities and work on my weaknesses by being in this class.
